From the offer to the employee's experience

A prepared start reaches all the way to payroll.

A Mexican employee's first weeks connect several kinds of information: RFC, CURP and NSS, employment terms, recorded working time and the details needed for a payroll receipt. Later, salary changes and benefits create new questions. Keep that history available to the people responsible for the employee's experience.

Identity details hold up a useful first review

Recruitment can be finished while local employee information remains incomplete. Give missing identifiers and documents a clear owner before payroll preparation, with a separate check of the fiscal information required for the company's CFDI process.

A salary change has more than one consequence

An agreed increase, the contribution salary and the employee's take-home amount are different pieces of the conversation. Keep the approved decision and relevant payroll inputs together so HR can explain the reviewed result and the employer can handle required notices.

Annual benefits need individual context

Aguinaldo, vacation premium and PTU are different events in the employee's year. Each needs its own inputs and review. Use the person's employment history to answer questions without treating every special payment as another discretionary bonus.

Payroll review · Mexico Illustrative workflow

Mexican working examples

Follow three moments that shape employee trust.

These illustrative workflows help define a useful pilot, with local calculations and operational handoffs checked before use.

Example workflow

A Guadalajara team welcomes a new specialist.

A candidate has accepted an offer and the manager is planning the first week. HR is checking identification and employment information. Payroll needs a complete enough record to compare the first monthly result in the agreed beta scope.

  1. HR

Give each pending item an owner

Assign onboarding documents and first-week checkpoints. Maintain RFC, CURP, NSS, salary and start-date information, and identify any detail requiring separate confirmation with the employee.

  2. Time

    Review the first daily records

Check clock-in and clock-out information and any leave request. Ask the manager to clarify the working context before agreeing the facts for payroll review.

  3. Pay

    Explain the first calculation

Review earnings, ISR and relevant contribution inputs against the agreed comparison. Generate the detailed pay document, then follow the separately confirmed CFDI and payment processes.

What changesThe employee starts with named support and a pay explanation grounded in checked records, while HR can see which external steps still need completion.

Example workflow

An employee prepares for time away from a Monterrey team.

The employee asks about available vacation and the related prima vacacional. Their manager needs agreed dates; HR needs to check the record. Payroll must review the premium estimate and the applicable inputs before approving a payment.

  1. HR

Keep the request with the person

Review start date, employment history and the employee's question. Assign any unresolved document or policy issue so the leave conversation has a clear next step.

  2. Time

    Check the leave information

Review the request and available balance within the agreed rules. Confirm dates with the manager and identify any carry-over question requiring separate treatment.

  3. Pay

    Review the premium estimate

Prepare the available prima-vacacional estimate and check salary and tax inputs. Compare the result with the agreed case before the responsible operator arranges payment.

What changesThe employee receives a clearer answer about leave and its associated payment, while the team keeps balance questions and calculation decisions visible for review.

Example workflow

A Puebla colleague earns a larger role.

A performance conversation leads to a supervisory position and a salary recommendation. The employee needs clear development priorities. HR and payroll need the approved compensation information and an explicit handoff for any required employer notice.

  1. HR

Connect the promotion and its purpose

Record feedback, new responsibilities and development goals. Retain the approved salary decision and effective date with the employee's employment and compensation history.

  2. Time

    Clarify the working-period facts

Review available daily attendance and leave with the manager. Keep changes in the working arrangement documented through the agreed process, since local scheduling remains outside scope.

  3. Pay

    Review salary and contribution inputs

Check the revised earnings, contribution base and applicable deductions within the pilot. Retain the comparison and identify who handles the separate IMSS and payment steps.

What changesThe promotion has a development path and a reviewed pay explanation, while employer reporting responsibilities remain visible instead of being mistaken for an automatic update.

People & development

Keep the promise after the offer is signed.

Help managers prepare new colleagues, follow development goals and respond to everyday needs. Shared HR tools preserve those commitments, while the Mexican rollout confirms the local employee, attendance and payroll work your team will use.

An organized first week

Connect candidates, interviews and accepted offers to onboarding tasks. Follow documents, equipment and early check-ins, with a responsible person for each item and local activation requirements confirmed during the pilot.

A next step after every review

Keep goals, feedback and development plans with the employee. Give managers the history behind salary recommendations and internal moves, so career conversations continue when responsibilities or reporting lines change.

Support that remembers the conversation

Manage benefits questions and HR cases with owners, notes and follow-up. Employees can raise requests while the team retains the context needed to continue the answer across the employment relationship.

Questions from Mexican employers

What should we validate before using Mexico payroll?

Mexico payroll is beta. Start with a defined monthly group and compare a complete cycle, including ISR, applicable employment-subsidy inputs, contribution salary and state ISN. Tax-credit calculations still need verification. Confirm your worker cases, benefits and pay frequency before relying on the results or moving away from an existing process.

Is a generated pay statement a stamped CFDI?

No. A detailed pay document is separate from CFDI issuance and timbrado through the required SAT/PAC arrangement. Employer and employee fiscal information, the issuance route and acceptance evidence need confirmation. Do not assume a generated PDF or a stored filing draft establishes a valid stamped payroll receipt.

Can we run shift schedules and biometric attendance?

The Mexican beta provides basic clock-in and clock-out records, daily attendance and leave requests with balances. Scheduling, full timesheets and biometric-device workflows remain pending; leave carry-over treatment is simplified. Agree the existing operational process managers will use to supply the working context needed for payroll review.

Are bank uploads and government filings automatic?

SPEI CSV files support preparation, with bank transport handled by manual upload and return reconciliation requiring operator involvement. Filing drafts also need an agreed manual submission process. Confirm acceptance requirements and responsible people, including how generated pay documents reach employees while email distribution remains pending.
